Title
Video 08 of Oedipus at Colonus Rehearsal led by Mark Fleishman on afternoon of 2022-11-01
Description
The conversation picks up around the use of the mask in representation of theatre, and really questioning the dramaturgical understanding of two women playing Creon and Theseus. The session draws to a close. After filming ends, Jayne speaks with Mark and Jennie about the stylistic choice of using the bouffon, to make a comment that the female body is the distorted body that is then liberated to mock the man. Mark shared that was his intention with the rehearsal provocation of making the leader a small boy who pees himself. Then Jennie and Mark speak of the use of huge phallysus, and Mark points to this being very common of the Greek Comedy style. This conversation was not recorded.
