Description
The Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies (CTDPS) is delighted to bring you Meeting Point: “sinuous kinetic conversations among bodies and communities in motion with time, space and rhythmic energies” (Lisa Wilson, Artistic Director) in two Acts. DANCE in the Centre focuses on contemporary dance performance through multiple artistic lens and continues to be a meeting point of past, present and future dance currents.
Act I features our students performing newly created dance works and repertory learnt in their African, contemporary, and classical technique courses with CTDPS dance faculty: Maxwell Xolani Rani; Byron Klassen; Janine Booysens; Nicolette Loxton and Lindy Raizenberg. Some of the new works such as ‘Contact’ premiered at the 2018 Baxter Dance Festival in Cape Town.
