Description
Memories of what was and what could be encircle the open space left by death. Of Loss and Memories explore individual journeys with losing a loved one. The sound…the space… the silence.
Movement 1: A week apart
Choreographed and performed by Luke de Kock and Marlin Zoutman
In this work, created by Luke De Kock and Marlin Zoutman, the two come together sharing their experience of loss. Both losing their mother in a short space of time, a week apart. They will be writing the last letter to their mother through spoken and unspoken words expressed through the body as abstract and interpretive.
Movement 2: Conversations with the transcended
Choreographed and performed by: Bjorn Cupido
Speaking through words and movements of the body, this piece is an adaptation of a conversation with my mother who just passed on after a long fight with cancer.
Movement 3: A faint sort of sadness

Loss in everyday life is inevitable. It is like a little ‘death’ that happens every time we lose something or someone. This piece is about the emotions we work through while experiencing loss, saying goodbye to what was and accepting how to carry on without.
Movement 4: A bond

It is acceptable to take the time you need to process grief. Remove any expectation of how you should be performing as you process grief. Your pain is unique, your relationship to the person you lost is unique, the emotional processing can feel different for each person.
