Met die afdelingskaart 1890 tot gids kan ons se dat die genoemde plase wel ’n eenheidsgebied was wat gestrek het van die noordoewer van die Breeri- vier af oos van Malagas, verder ooswaarts tot aan die Slangrivier waar hy in die Breerivier invloei, en dan piramidegewys noordwaarts reik tot byna aan die Dipkarivier, ’n geweldige gebied dus, en ver genoeg van die see sodat 'n naam van 'n skip wel nouliks in aanmerking sal kom. 'n Gefun- deerde verklaring ontbreek nog. Die spelling met 'Kadie' is n ontwikke- ling van later; 'Valley' is hier nog Hollandse spelling (nie Engels nie)
