Kouga(Berge)
This 'Kouga Mountains' lies just northwest of Crossfontein and Humansdorp, in the District Humansdorp, and should not be confused with the Kouga Mountains at 3324 CA located in the Willowmore district, between the Koer River in the south and the Baviaanskloof River in the north. The last-mentioned chewing gas mountains was treated in th a ** 770. There we have linked 'Kouga' with Namaǃ Khao- = hippo. We believe the Kouga Mountains at Humansdorp have the same meaning of 'hippo (rich)'. We land our point of view on topographical considerations. To the Kouga Mountains, the 'Seekoei River' originates just below 'Seekoeiapunt' south of 'Jeffreys Bay' in the sea. A tributary of the Seekoei River flows over the farm 'Klein Zeekoe River and Zeekoe River Hoek' No Hu. Q. 7- 2; Jeffreys Bay and Seekoopunt are located on the farm. We believe that we have a toponimic core group whose Dutch / African components from the Khoekhens have been translated, M.A.W. That 'Zeekoe-' and 'hippo' in all cases translations are 'chew (GA) -'.
