This selector coordinates without a doubt with the current pan 'Swartvlei' on K 3322 DC / 3422 BB close to the seafront, District George, and with the eponymous side of later. Swartvlei is then clearly translating the old name, which literally means 'black water (place)', distraction like Pettman above. There will also be a bond with the Swart River on K 3322 DC, apparently due to the common feature in the dark biochemical color of the water. The inland name does not occur more cadastral.

Hierdie Noetsekamma koordineer sonder veel twyfel met die huidige pan 'Swartvlei' op K 3322 DC/3422 BB na aan die seekant, distrik George, en met die gelyknamige sylyn van later. Swartvlei is dan duidelik die vertaling van die ou naam, wat letterlik beteken 'Swartwater(plek)', afleiding soos by Pettman hierbo. Daar sal ook ’n verband met die Swartrivier op K 3322 DC wees, blykbaar as gevolg van die gemeenskaplike kenmerk in die donker biochemiese kleur van die water. Die inlandse naam kom nie meer kadastraal voor nie.
