Benjamin Kats is omstreeks 1930 deur prof. Engelbrecht ondervra. Kats het toe nog op die sendingstasie Pniel gebly. Wat hy gee, is die naam van Kaapstad, maar in uitspraak is dit erg vervorm. Die eerste suigklap is nog korrek, die tweede nie. Boonop dateer die ou naam van Kaapstad nie uit die voor-Europese tydperk nie, maar uit die tydperk nadat die huidige Kasteel gebou is, die keer opgetrek in klip. Dit weet ons uit die betekenis van die ou naam. Die betekenis is 'Klipkraal', eintlik 'Klipplek', in Nama ǀUiǃkhaeb.
