Kwacao
Gordon gives the name as opposed to 'North Oliphants River' and another 'Oliphants Riv: at Gouritz'. It is not exactly clear which river he intended with 'east', one suspect it is just another part of the branch of the Gourits River. His writing is unclear and the ink has defeated, so the -o can be another letter at the end. The blunt acent sign in front is to understand as a suction clank. If the -cao stands for 'river', Old-Cape (ǃ) Ka (Hott 430 by River II), then must be quarters like Ou-Cape Caho, COA etc. (Hott 405) For 'Elephant' and the whole is literally translated as 'Olifants River', which applies to the eastern tributary of the Gourits (hence its 'east'), a name in translated form the old name had suppressed. The current nama shape will be ╪Khoa-ǃ AB.
