The sprout is about 5 miles [8 km] north of [the farm] Hotten-crown. Around 1877, Capt. Komas River was also their suburbs, therefore, we can almost with certainty the name KOMAS link to one of their leaders of earlier. The farm on which this Komas River (D.I. a brook) lies, the entry 'Koegat' with homestead. A connection between comasy and koegat looks geographically undressing. Also linguistically, the bond is anything: Nama for cow is Goma-S (Rest 1960 DNW 37). Then it is the hand to translate this Komas River with 'Cow, or Cattle River'.
