Xaudanib

Rev. Zahn analyzes the composition as follows: gold- = dung, and -eni = honey. According to Nama, however, it should be: XOU- [XAU] = 'Scheiss- DREK ...', and -Dani- = 'derign' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 48 and 53 resp.). Deni- is an ordinary old-Cape variant in pronunciation. One doubt or Rev. Zahn, then just in the country and new on his mission, had already knew much Khoen, also his word distribution, but his notice is based on what was told Him locally. To make it linguistically acceptable, the division soon plus -deni would have been good. For us it is still unhappy how the fog spoiled exactly the honey. It is important that we got a new point of view with this statement. Cfg. Also Chue and Gouda.

afr Eerw. Deni- is ’n gewone Ou-Kaapse variant in uitspraak. Mens twyfel of eerw.
