It extends over both shores of Groot River. The tar road of Steytlerville after Uitenhage runs over the farm. Which strikes is the equality of the member -dome of the farm name and the member of the Khoekhoense name, in the sense that Nama 'ǀǀ Khu-B' means 'Der Dorn' (Rest 1960 DNW 14) so that the Khoekhowen name The suspicion awaks that he continues in translated form, viz, as Yzerdorn. The thorn species must be determined even more closely. His Khoekhoen name is then Karka. It's the only time we've met him

Wat opval, is die gelykheid van die lid -doom van die plaasnaam en die lid Kob van die Khoekhoense naam, in die sin dat Nama 'ǀǀkhu-b' juis beteken 'der Dorn' (Rust 1960 DNW 14), sodat die Khoekhoense naam die vermoede wek dat hy in vertaalde vorm voortbestaan, nl, as Yzerdoorn.
