According to the map s.a. 1971 Scale 1:50 000 Located on the farm 'Karee emptiness', on the northern hanging of the Slypstickberg. The name is divided (so we are told) of the Karkei, a Khoekhoense name for 'Anyone of a few shrubs of the generations of Cotyledon and Crassula .. (5,341, but also consult Smith 1966 CNSAP 280). This is the only place name that BNS has as far as the plant name has been preserved.
