Kandous(Berg, -Rivier)

We have no direct indication whatsoever, indirectly as far as the can or plum bushes are abundant, and the member can - remind us of a possible connection with the plum forest or oyris compressus. The old cards give the closing part as -Do-S, but the surveying of surveying 1955 says the part is expressed with accent as 'Kandons River'. The -dous power means 'gate, gap', as often elsewhere. 'Plum bush gap'?

'Pruimbos- kloof'?
