Ka- reekamma, karee (gorge) etc., at th a ** 652-653), but with 'dry', 'bare' (See karee (mountains) in th a ** 651 ea) for the language expert arguments. If exactly, 'dry (sprout)' is a translation from 'Karree (river)', a phenomenon that we often encountered.

afr Op die plaas 'Part of Karree Rivier', dist. Willowmore, ontspring die 'droëspruit' wat daarvandaan ooswaarts vloei en op die plaas Sans Souci in die Vandereys uitmond. Die toponimiese kerngroep 'droë(spruit)' en 'Karree (Rivier)' laat die vermoede ontstaan dat hier weer 'n geval is waar 'kar(r)ee' nie verband hou met ’n Rhus spesie nie (soos bv. KA- REEKAMMA, KAREE(KlOOF) ens., by TH A** 652-653), maar met 'droë', 'kaal' (kyk KAREE(BERGE) in TH A** 651 e.a.) vir die taal- kundige argumente. Indien juis, dan is 'droë(spruit)' ’n vertaling uit 'Karree (Rivier)', ’n verskynsel wat ons meermale teegekom het.
