Topographic form 'Tap Fountain', 'Tapfontein's Gorge', 'Matjieskop', 'Matjes Gorge,' 'Matjiesberg' and 'Matjiesbekloof' a unit. Semantics maybe there may also be a link between 'tap' and 'carpet '.' Riet 'is in Nama + AB (Cr. In T-AP) 'ri alveolaar. The T- represent in this case the palatal fellow brinker. It is then possible that 'mat' from 'tap' has been translated.
