Gnuena

On the farm 'Gousha Gate' No Ped. Q. 22-25, Dist. Peddie, mouth the 'Gnuena' in the 'Blue River' that flows from the northeast. About a kilometer southwest of the confluence water the Blue River in the Great Fish River. On the topographical series 1968 sheet 3326 GRA HAMSLOWN, the Blue River is given as the 'Gqora' and the Gnuena as 'Paradise River'. Is there possibly a connection between 'Gnuena' and 'Blue River', eg. That 'GNUE' like Nama ^ ha = 'Blau' (Rust 1960 dnw 11), with '-na' like Namaǃ A- = River, 'FlusS' (Rust 22)? Or is a bond between 'Gnuena' and ǀ Nanu- = heaven, in Old Cape 'Noonop', 'Nanoop', etc., (Hott. 300), = 'Paradise River'?

afr Op die plaas 'Gousha Poort' nr Ped. Q. 22-25, dist. 300), = 'Paradise River'?
