In Ou-Kaaps is 'ribbok' opgeteken as o.a. saa, in die Oostelike Provinsie as za, in Kora as zan-s wat aansluit by Nama sa-b: die nasale stamvokaal is in die pleknaam gerealiseer as -n- in Sa(a)n- (vgl. HOTT 428).
