Survey 1952 'The Guarri Hills, range of hills, +- 20 miles [32 km] South West of Bedford. Name of long standing. ‘Guarri trees’ (Afrikaans ghwarriebome) grow on the slopes and in the kloofs of these hills. As the name is used by English speaking farmers and I found no evidence of an Afrikaans equivalent or other name, I gave the English form of the name. Situated on the farm Olivewoods.' Form filled in by H.A. Ruddock.
