For the second member see Kei ('Sand River'), the first member is like Nama ╪nu = black. Black is a hybrid composition of which the first component is a direct translation from the old Khoenhens of the original name. The Klipplaat River runs in the blackbird, and the blackbird in the gross on the west side; The Black Knowing rises to the Winterberg south of Queenstown. Van Reenen gives the reason for the color determination, but then the element is translated, as was done by Lichtenstein in his travel story over the years 1803-6. Only Sparrman (Mentzel writes Horn apparently) gives the old form, then the member is ╪nu- fees. We suffered with some quotes.

Vir die tweede lid kyk KEI ('Sandrivier'), die eerste lid is soos Nama ╪nu = swart. Swartkei is ’n hibridiese samestelling waarvan die eerste komponent ’n direkte vertaling uit die ou Khoekhoens van die oorspronklike naam is. Die Klipplaatrivier loop in die Swartkei, en die Swartkei in die Grootkei aan die westekant daarvan; die Swartkei ontspring aan die Winterberg ten suide van Queenstown. Van Reenen gee die rede vir die kleurbepaling, maar dan word die element al vertaal, soos ook deur lichtenstein in sy reisverhaal oor die jare 1803-6 gedoen is. Alleen Sparrman (Mentzel skryf horn klaarblyklik na) gee die ou vorm, daarna is die lid ╪Nu- vereuropees. Ons het volstaan met ’n paar aanhalings.
