Kadies(Berg)

At the corresponding topographical map 1974, the name of this mountain appeared as 'khissberg', clearly a nethymological effort to give sense to the hybrid cabin hens Afrikaans name Kadiesberg. However, it is on the topographical map that we find the key to the meaning of the component kadies-. On the south side of Kikjiesberg (Kadiesberg) is poison head. GIF is in Namaǃ Ga (Rest 1960 DNW 27) Allophone withǃ KHA (cf. th a * 42 at 5 a 3). We believe the first member of the name Kadiesberg, D.W.S. Ka-, 'poison' means, m.a.w. That Gifkop and Ka Diesberg are interconnected to topographical and linguistic grounds, in the sense that the Afrikaans component is poison- a translation of the corresponding Khoekhoen component.

Description
eng At the corresponding topographical map 1974, the name of this mountain appeared as 'khissberg', clearly a nethymological effort to give sense to the hybrid cabin hens Afrikaans name Kadiesberg.
TH A* 42 by 5 A 3).
