Noas(Drift)

A nice example of consonant change, viz. of K and N, cf. 5 d 5. The Noasdrift is, literally translated, Olifantsdrif, such as Nama ╪khoa- = elephant, with connection in the Afrikaans form before the -drift, cf. His 'Oliphant Spad'. The Doorn River runs in the Olifants River and he again in the Atlantic Ocean.

Description
eng A nice example of consonant change, viz. of K and N, cf. 5 d 5. The Noasdrift is, literally translated, Olifantsdrif, such as Nama ╪khoa- = elephant, with connection in the Afrikaans form before the -drift, cf. His 'Oliphant Spad'. The Doorn River runs in the Olifants River and he again in the Atlantic Ocean.
afr ’n Mooi voorbeeld van konsonantwisseling, nl. van k en n, vgl. 5 D 5. Die Noasdrift is, letterlik vertaal, Olifantsdrif, soos Nama ╪khoa- = olifant, met verbindings -s in die Afrikaanse vorm voor die -drift, vgl. sy 'oliphantspad'. Die Doornrivier loop in die Olifantsrivier en hy weer in die Atlantiese oseaan.
