eng Surveying 1957 'PE PE Kloof, Magistrate District Namaqualand, 12 miles [19 km] Suidwes of Garies. Old name for a gorge. PE PE is the name given to a kind of gifbos. The Bushians used the stem earlier to make a kind of whistle from it. The flutes were used for the imitation of the sound that makes wildlife. The whistles give off a kind of pe-noise. The gorge is located on the farm Tweerivians. Information obtained from Mr Nieuwoudt of the farm Tweerivians '.
