Kaboos, Kaboes
Kaboos, also spelled Kaboes (topographical series 1974 sheet 3018 Loeriesfon- tein), is the name of farm Civ. Q. 20-18, District Calvinia, of a river 'Kaboes River' (said topographic skin) on the farm, a river nam- LIKE running out of southwest in the Krom River, and then it is the name of a crossroads of woe; The highway of Loeriesfontein runs over here. On the farm is also a homestead 'Loerkop' just about the 2 km of farmyard (topographical series 1974 sheet 3019 CB Brakfontein, scale 1:50 000), and north of this Loerkop lies another louder 921 meters high. And finally, the Nama Wordǃ Kha = 'Schielen' (Rust 1960 DNW 38), D.W.S. Look, for the first component of the farm name, it makes very possible that Kaboos / boss means 'burden', viz. on wild.
