Orrie (Se Kloof)

This article is intended by numerous and many similar cases we usually pass, but here to call an interest. The gorge is collapsing with another gap that lies just south of Horn and has the name of 'dog kloof'. A dog is in Nama Ari- (Rest 1960 DNW 32), a name that seems so strong on orrie that it can be risked to translate 'Orry' with 'Dog ...' It's just that -A- ( From ARI) can alternate with -O- (from orrie), and the pattern is equally common. But: Orrie's gorge passes on the eastern hang of Witberg past and 'white' is in Namaǃ Uri, and in that case it will mean that Witkloof in his first or main element is the translation of the oldǃ Uri that is equal to Personal name Orrine changed. If the researcher gets no outside help, what will he now make with the two acceptable possibilities, both linguistically motivable?
