Daar is nog ’n tweede Hantam waaroor dr Raper 1972 Streekname 56 soos volg berig 'Nuwe Hantam, geleë in die huidige distrik Colesberg, was in die 19e eeu ’n veldkornetskap, maar het later ’n streeknaam geword. Hierdie naam is deur Dopperpioniers van die Hantam in Calvinia oorgedra toe hulle hulle in die Colesberg-distrik gevestig het'. In soverre as wat hierdie tweede streek die volgende nie insluit nie, is daar ’n derde Hantam, nl. die van Sparrman, Swellengrebel en onaangehaaldes. Hy word van Hantam en Nuwe Hantam onderskei as Groot-Hantam. HANTAM. Indien dit juis is, dan was albei vorme primer, Anthon(i) en Hantam, maar laasgenoemde het sy opponent oorgeneem.
