Dabidas
Dabidas' is farm No. Q. 10-23, District Namaqualand. It flows in southeastern direction the non-perennial river 'Alwynsfontein's lows'. 'Aloe' is in Nama Gore for the Bitter Wyn (Hott 201), and 11Gara - for the Kokerboom (Rust 1960 DNW 2). There is therefore not a language expert relationship between 'Dabidas' and 'Aalwynfontein's valley'. In view, we would connect the member 'Dabi' of 'Dabidas' with Nama Dabe- = 'Brak' (cf. Dabeb at th a * 296) or 'bracket', viz. The Tamarex USNEOIDES, and the member -thas with Nama + gas = 'dry vlei' (Rust 70), 'Flats' (Cr. R. 1969 NW 97). Also 'Low' (cf. Daas Daa), or otherwise the -thas are simply a place-pointed suffix, According to Krenz FK 1978 farmer record, the whole 'brackish'. Support for this suspicion, viz. with regard to the first member as means 'Brak', we find in names of surrounding places, eg. 'Soutputs', 'Bit- Terfontein ',' Obees 'and' Oubeespan '
