These Koams should not be confused with the Koams of Koams & Zoutvlei at 2918. However, whether Mr Visser looked with his distraction we do not know. On the farm cold level, the Kaams River that declared us on topographical grounds as 'Rietmond River'. If Koams here is an exchange form of cakes, as we think, it means 'Rietmond', such as Nama = fa = reed and ams = mouth, water opening (Kr.- 1969 NW Resp. 32 and 4).

Hierdie Koams moet nie verwar word met die Koams van KOAMS & ZOUTVlEI op 2918 nie. Of mnr Visser gelyk het met sy afleiding weet ons egter nie. Op die plaas Kougoedvlakte ontspring die KAAMSRIVIER wat ons op topografiese gronde verklaar het as 'Rietmondrivier'. Indien Koams hier 'n wisselvorm van Kaams is, soos ons meen, dan beteken dit 'Rietmond', soos Nama =Fa = riet en ams = mond, wateropening (Kr.-R. 1969 NW resp. 32 en 4).
