Brush on the farm 'De Kuilen' Clw. Q. 6-54, to the Buffalo River running over the farm. North West to De Kuilen border Modderfontein. Many places in the immediate vicinity of Leliefontein Reserve and these De Kuilen go out on the Element Fountain. Brush is maybe like Nama ╪goa- = mud (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 132), M.A.W. The pits after which the farm was named in early years (note the old Dutch name De Kuilen) was actually mud piles, as was also found on the adjacent farm named Modderfontein. The namanaam, as we usually fixed, the oldest name, given by the first residents. We can then conclude that De Kuilen's name is a translation of the old name ╪Gea-s, which is still preserved for a portion of the farm as brush, according to the speech of the whites, actually for 'mudkuilen' . The -s of the Fern, sing, also indicates that it is the name of a (real) water location. However, we give preference to a distraction from Namaǃ Goa- = 'Eingekung (Immonders)' (Kr.- R. 125) that is directly a translation of pits, water-holding.
