Today it is entered On maps as 'Honing Tree Alias Hunboom'. on the census card 1891 is called 'Honing tree', without the addition of an alias. Mr Van Jaarsveld's communication is intended as a grant that makes the course clearer. He lies a mortgage now Between the Hun (I) or white hole tree that explains the transition to 'Honey'. It is not only a sound associative 'transformation' of Huni to Honey, there was indeed a mortgage with honey itself within the Hunbome.

Die naam is al bespreek in TH A** 584-5 en die 'Honing' van die 'Ho- ningboom' is verklaar as ’n omvorming van die Namanaam van die witgat- boom, nl. van ǀhuni. Vandag is dit ingeskryf op kaarte as 'Honingboom alias Hunboom'. Op die Sensuskaart 1891 heet dit 'Honingboom', sonder die toevoeging van ’n alias. Mnr Van Jaarsveld se mededeling is bedoel as ’n toegif wat die verloop duideliker maak. Hy le nou 'n verband tussen die Hun(i)- of witgatboom wat die oorgang tot 'Honing-' verklaar. Dit is nie net maar 'n klankassosiatiewe 'omvorming' van huni- tot honing- nie, daar was inderdaad ook ’n verband met heuning self binne die huniboom.
