We believe the name 'T'koeroekop' is in its first component, 'T'koe-', to declare such as Koeroebeest, Kooegab, Koeroe (head) (th ** 739-740) and Tkurpeberg (th B), namely that the T'kuru- like Nama ǀǀ Guru = 'Quarz, Sieelgrund, Marmor' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 143) is. We land our argument on more than with the sound conversion between the names. WESTERNESS Long T'Koeroekop is 'Vaalbaken Head' with Triangle Braken No. 37 on it. The first member, 'Vaal-', probably indicates the pale (white) quarter-based, so that there is topographical support for the name statement.
