Karabee
It is an old farm, by 1890 in loan, southeast of Prieska's town grounds, now subscribed as No. 50. There are some derivatives, such as a station with the same name, a 'K. Annex 'and a' carbene ', (cf. topographical series 1975 sheet 1922 Prieska). The farm lies in the arm cavity of the asbestos-bearing Doring Mountains. Karabee no pr. Q. 1-6 is bounded for its full width on the south side by 'Kokerberg', on the mentioned topographical map 'Kokerboomkop'. The Nama Word for Kokerboom is ǀǀ Gara. In Old Cape it is Kara (Hott 345). This corresponds soundly to the first member Kara of the Place Name Carabee. It then looks linguistically as well as topographically possible that there may be a connection between 'Kokerberg' / 'Kokerboomkop' and 'Karabee'. The closing member of the name Karabee is then the locative morpheme such as Namabe-.
