Haikhub
On the corresponding topographical series 1975 sheet 2918 Pofadder the name appears as 't'naikoepe'. The t'n- does not represent an attempt to spell the suction consonant. The form Haikhub suspects that the first member like Nama ǀ Hai is to be understood, d.w.s. with a dental slap in front. To the ǀ Writing with a t'n- is understandable, at least it approaches the 'dental' articulation. The spelling soup here is determined better than the spelling -khub on the 1970 card, added if our statement (as presented below) is accepted and that the game efforts mentioned above, then become transparent. In modern Nama orthography, the name should be 'ǀ Hai ǀ UIB', meaning literally 'Vaalklip / head', better 'Vaalbank'. T'naikoep / Haikhub, a head, lies on a side bag of T'koeriesrivier (or Wit river). Here are also quite a few places with ingredient bank, eg. PE- PERBOSBANK, PAKE BANK, Coetzebank, Stress Bank, and just north of our t'naikoep lie 'Witbank', d.w.s. a -coep or -khub, actually (according to us) a ǀ kuib, old-Cape for 'stone / mountain / head', along with the color name white, in our name likewise with a color name, the hai- or t 'Nai, but now means' dull '. 'Vaalbank'.
