As can be completed from the increase, Swart River or Black River is an old name of the Orange River from its origin to its association with the Vaal River.

Die wisseling van die -r- (in -ga-r-ib) en die -h- in -h-eap kom betreklik selde voor, d.w.s. indien hier wel 'n wisseling is. Sy woordverdeling is hier heeltemal verkeerd.
