Goob (Se Berg); Goob (Se Laagte)

The spelling with T'- still reminds the tongue dress, which, according to the Segsman of PNC, apparently no longer heard. Goob's mountain lies right of Goob's valley, a row of dry pans, which also had other names (eg. Namiespoort) and running down to the Sendingspos Pella. It is suggested that Goob is to be understood asǃ Kho-B = 'Limestein' (Rust 1960 DNW 34), so actually 'lime layer', or a valley in which limestone appears at the late. This is a personal name. We believe that Goob's valley is the same as the 'Koupps emptiness', the farm where Goob's valley originated and Koupkop, M.A.w. That they are just interfaces of each other. Cfgl '. Koup (head), Koups (void) in th a ** 111.

Description
eng The spelling with T'- still reminds the tongue dress, which, according to the Segsman of PNC, apparently no longer heard. afr Die spelling met T’- herinner nog aan die tongklap, wat volgens die segsman van PNK blykbaar nie meer gehoor word nie. Goob se Berg le regs van Goob se laagte, ’n ry droë panne, wat ook ander name gehad het (bv. Namiespoort) en wat afloop na die sendingspos Pella. Voorgestel is dat Goob te begryp is as ǃkho-b = 'Kalkstein' (Rust 1960 DNW 34), dus eintlik 'Kalklaagte', of 'n laagte waarin kalkklip by wyle vertoon. Vgl’. KOUP(KOP), KOUPS(lEEGTE) in TH A** 111.
