'Reed' is in Namaa- what soundly good matches the member A named Axamis. This raises the question of whether the Axamis here in the discretion Namaqualand should not be explained as Achamis, Agamis in South West Africa, viz. As 'Rietwater' (╪ A- ǀ Gamis), cf. Th a * 166.

'Riet' is in Nama ╪a- wat klankmatig goed ooreenstem met die lid A- van die naam Axamis. Dit laat by ons die vraag ontstaan of die Axamis hier in die dis- trik Namakwaland nie verklaar moet word soos ACHAMIS, AGAMIS in Suidwes-Afrika nie, nl. as 'Rietwater' (╪ A-ǀ ǀgamis), vgl. TH A* 166.
