Goms

According to Dr of peacocks, then beyond Gums; Gomi is male, goms female. That there were meadow oilwood trees, and that the farm name of earlier corresponds to the Nama word for the tree type, making it convincing that the old inland name goms means 'Olienhoutboomplek', cf. Nama igoms = 'Olivenholzbusch' (Rust 1960 DNW 46). And yet this is not the case, we think. The current farm name Banksfontein Gr. 11/1951 just east of Campbell and at the main road, was translated from Khoekhens (Griqua), according to Return of Krenz FK 1976 Farmer ''ǀ Goms = Bank (fels . The old name got Dr of Vredes in a card.

Description
eng According to Dr of peacocks, then beyond Gums; Gomi is male, goms female. The old name got Dr of Vredes in a card.
afr Volgens dr Van Vreeden dan verder soos by GOEMS; gomi is manlik, goms vroulik.
