Kgabiekies
We have not met the old name on old available cards yet. On the 1891 census card was entered for this orbility. In fact, the map of 1891 is here badly 'faulty', especially in the course of the Orange River. The starting point of the current name is the mountain. The two 'ears' can be well made on the topographical series 1973 scale 1:50 000 sheet 2818 DD kambreek. The farm name highly No. 37 is then redeemed from the mountain name Hoogoorberg. The names are high and high inauguration have a form suspected of other distractions, especially T.O.V. The member 'about' who does not (as we first thought) is an adverb, but a S.Nw. nl. for the body part. 'About' is reproduced in Nama and Kora with two different words: ǀǀ now - for the hearing man, and ╪gai- for the outside ear, the visible organ, LG. in Kora ╪kx'ai (Meinhof). The two how mountain parts then look like two ears, or overrups, in ferocious form such as the member KGA (Kora ╪kx'ai). The -bie- is the usual locative suffix, the rest misfortune a variety. Either way, it is clear that Hoofoorberg is a translation and in his conclusion is an adaptation of -n inland name that remained in circulation that it could still be recorded in 1950.
