Kowiep(Rivier)
On the census map, the T.CoWiep River runs from south to north in the 'T.NEIN T.NABAEP'S RIVER' in the Orange River out of water. On the series South Africa 1:50,000 1971 Skin 2817 Vioolsdrif runs this KowiePrivier in the Charliesfontein River received by the Orange River just east of Vioolsdrif. Apparently Charliesfontein River replaced the old name of Neinnababeeps River, and with that he pushed the old inland name. On the census card there is in the KowiePrivier 'Kobis Fountain'. If remember that the -P of the ML. Ekv. In cases also index of river names, and the -s of the VR. Foninname is, then it is clear that the river and the fountain in Him have the same name (Kowie-P / Kobi-S, with the normal interchange ruling of -W andB-, so that the Foundary Kowi or Kobi - is, after the case). West of Kobifontein gives Vereket on his card to 'Kalkfontein'. 'Lime', also 'Kalkgrund, Blaukalk ...' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 245) is in Namaǃ so that it is reasonably certain that Kobisfontein is also 'Kalkfontein', and therefore that KowiePrivier literally matches and therefore, with the -P for 'river', 'lime (place) river' is: the -wee- of kowiep like the - Bi-Kobi at the fountain, locates the two places. KowiePrivier has already discussed in th a ** 784, but the derivation we have accepted from the owner is clearly wrong. The motivation was missing there, here it is present in the reference to the soil system with its lime soil, at least in places. The T. of the return on the census map represents the suction consonant, in this case theǃ.
