Noordoos van Noudonsies en in die onmiddellike omgewing daarvan (net oorkant die rivierloop) is 'Witklipeiland' (Topografiese reeks 1975 vel 2820 Upington). Ten weste daarvan is die plaas 'Wit Klip' nr Ken. Q.5-14 (Topo-kadastrale reeks 1966 vel 2820 Upington). Indien die eerste lid van Noudonsies, nl. Nou-, soos Nau- in die naam NAUDAU is en 'wit' beteken, en die slotlid, -sies, lokatief is soos Nama -ses, dan het ons in die komponent -don- ’n woord vir kaiingklip wat ons nie elders opgeteken gevind het nie en wat as sodanig ’n wins is vir ons woordvoorraad. Op grond van die plaas- en plekname in die omgewing (Wit Klip, Witklipeiland, Witkop en Witklip se Berg) meen ons dat Witklip die vertaling van die inlandse naam kan wees.
