Gaobis
Gaobis is farm No 138, district Karasburg, located southwest of Warmbaths, just north of Ramansdrift No. 135, LG. border on the Orange River. This Gaobis should not be confused with the Gaobis who laid completely east of Warmbaths and today the name of Jerusalem No. 73. Gaobis No. 138 Border his stifle side to Sperlingputs No. 259, a farm that later originated by subdivision, as also appears from the numening. Nama (ǀ) ǀǀ Gaub is a 'sperber' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 104), also a 'sperling'. It looks like the second or main part of the Falcon and starling name, the ǀǀ Gau, perhaps preserved in the place name's Gao, with the -bias locative morpheme, and the -s of the Fern. Sing, here as source indicator. If so, this Gaobis is the 'fountain where Stretch likes', in German 'Sperlingputs', D.W.S. That the border farm has a name translated from Khoekhound. It would have helped us if a suction patch was kept to get more certainty. For example, Mr Krenz 1979 asks farmer's note whether it may not mean IGAOBIS = 'Haupt Sets'. What support our standpoint is the fact that our effort follows the pattern of doubles HI6R, a pattern that is obviously not infallible, but confirming Horn numerous times
