Kwaap

PNC recommends 'quap'. The TC. In the old recording, the suction flap and the first consonant, for ╪Goa- = mud, and the -p (-B of the ml. ECV.) Is possibly the usual index of river names, or a rallyǃ A- = 'River', plus the index sign. literally 'muddy river (chj)'. This applies here the place described above by surveying, but there is another 'quap' whorlop, viz. At 2817 AD. It will have the same meaning.

eng Census card 1891 'Tc.uage'. Surveying 1955 'TC UAp. River. I've seen 'Kwab' and 'quap' on cards. Tcuage = 'mud, muddy'. Hence the name 'Modderrif for the lower part of the Vioolsdrif settlement, near which place the river in the orange. Located on crown land. Information of whites and coloreds authorized by Nama '. Signed by J. de Viliers.
afr Sensuskaart 1891 'Tc.Uaap'. Opmeting 1955 'Tc Uaap. Rivier.
