Gameij

Forbes 1965 PTSA 105's 'About 8 Miles More in the Same Direction [T.w. to the east of camelopardalisdood] Brought Him to His Gam Ey, Which is Probably The Permanent Spring Now Spell Gumnuipe '. On the face of the eye, Gameij looks like Opperman's Gamkaib, which means 'leechesy', or 'lion round', such as Xam claim, Xamis (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 42 'Xam Claim, Xamis: Lowgrund' ), at Xami = Lion, plus claim [AIS] = 'Faith, progressite, Oberfläche' (Kr.- 60), at EI [AI] = before (on). There are also other possibilities, eg. The gamble can be the vexarized Nama lamb, 'green', and Gameij according to 'green land / greenfield', cf. Ameib.

afr Forbes 1965 PTSA 105 se 'About 8 miles more in the same direction [t.w. ten ooste van Cameelopardalisdoodt] brought him to his Gam Ey, which is probably the permanent spring now spelt Gomnuip'. AMEIB.
