The old name was lost, and his meaning that was very appropriate, according to Thompson's experience there, viz. From 'Leue River' (Nama Xam (I) - = Lion, andǃ A, in Old Cape (ǃ) Ka-, River), join Gamka 3321. According to Forbes, this Gamka of Thompson was killed by Moffat as 'Gemsbok River' by 1900, it was 'Zwartbast River', and now it is 'Tuins River' (on K 2920 BC).
