Narries, Ook (Boonste/Onderste) Narries, Narries (Selaagte/Loop/Mond/Rooikoppe) Ens.

The name comes on many maps of earlier. Exchange rates are Aries, Hari (E) S, Garies and (as Normalized today) NAR (R) IES, with accent on the NAR. These changes are all common, also in Old Cape, cf. Hott 180-1 or we 5 d 8, 6 and 4 respectively. There are no early declaration of the name in our sources, a name involved in a whole complex, looks under surveying. All statements are based on the probabilities of sound and environment. Most think of a connection with Nama ǀ Gari-B = Growth Grass, here with exit on -S that could have originally --n Fontinname, so about 'Graspfontein'. Locally, 'BrakBosfontein' is also thought (cf. surveying) or 'steal spot' (cf. Burger, in the latter case is thought of Namaǃ Nari = 'Stehlen', as at Rust 1960 DNW 59).

Locally, 'BrakBosfontein' is also thought (cf. surveying) or 'steal spot' (cf. Burger, in the latter case is thought of Namaǃ Nari = 'Stehlen', as at Rust 1960 DNW 59).
Burger, in laasgenoemde geval word gedink aan Nama ǃnari = 'stehlen', soos by Rust 1960 DNW 59).
