Aigams
The guy was ǀ Ai ǀǀ Gams, Nama ǀ Ai-S = Fire, ǀǀ Gams or ǀǀ Gami = Water, N.A.v. The hot sources there, thus 'fire water' or 'hot water', currently Warmbaths, which is a translation of Nama. The distortion of the brothers C. and A. Albrecht who settled in 1804 as first missionaries (Rhine Society) under the Namas there. Dr. H Vedder says: 'The Nama Nennen Gonde the Ortschaft Kurzweg 'Boss', Ohne Sich the Bedeutung des Welttes Klarzumachen' - cf. His article in Journal SWA Scient. Soc. 4 1928-9 26. The 'boss' is the Afr. 'Bad' with a Nama exit, the -s is the Fern. Sing, who function as a locative at Bronname. The name Nisbeth Bath never hit, was also short-lived (1834-1840), and will not be the origin of 'boss'. Besides, the Bondelswarts and others served them from Afrikaans, and Warmbad appeared in Hendrik Witbooi's diary as 'bath', cf. VRV 9 55 and elsewhere. Refer to O.A. Wandres C in Lüderitzbuchter Zeitung 16: 248 Oct 27 1928, said article by Dr H Vedder, Pettman 1931 SAPN 19-20.
