Garganab

To the east of 'Compagniesdrift' or Ramansdrif. We are not sure we have deciphered the name on Gordon's map right. Gordon's recording is slightly fuller than the on Wikar's card. Perhaps the name is better to recover than ǀǀ Khararinǃ Na-S = The 'place (-s) with small pebbles or coil (ǀǀ Kharari-N) in it (ǃ Na-)'. Equally good for the first component ǀ ǀ Khara-B is taken until founded, but ǀ ǀ Khai plus distraction elements = 'sand', cf. Chairob. What Gordon's return is concerned. We are not rest assured of Mossop's statement at Wikar's return T.O.V. Lock it. Gordon's the place also called 'the forest' (if we understand right), and because of the trees. Then one thinks at Wikar's -ganas by itself to ǀǀ Gana-S, 'Kameldornbaum' (Rust 1960 DNW 34). The first member in the form of 11kara [Khara] = 'Gross, Dick, Starkleibig' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 221) offers him, thus the 'place of the large camel thorn trees,' or the 'camel thorn tree forest'.

Description
eng To the east of 'Compagniesdrift' or Ramansdrif. Then one thinks at Wikar's -ganas by itself to ǀǀ Gana-S, 'Kameldornbaum' (Rust 1960 DNW 34). afr Ten ooste van 'Compagniesdrift' of Ramansdrif geleë.
