Agreement of the last ingredient (without Schnalz) with ǀǀ Gami (with Schnalz) = 'Water' is coincidental.

By -kxamma le die verhouding weer presies anders- om. Engelbrecht verklaar kx?am- by ’n ander naam (KAONUMKXAM) as 'mouth'. Vir mond in Ou-Kaaps vgl. HOTT 392, daar is die anlaut altyd velaar, maar in Nama het dit heeltemal gevokaliseer geraak en verskyn as ams (ook sonder suigkonsonant anlautend). Die naam is te vertaal as Olie- wenhoutmond, maar met 'mond' in Khoekhoens ook as 'uitmonding' en 'water', is dit te vertaal as Oliewenhoutuitmonding, ’n plek wat klaarblyklik ook as 'drif dienstig was, en vandaar die vertaalde aanpassing in Afrikaans tot die huidige Oliewenhoutsdrif. Ooreenkoms van die laaste bestanddeel (sonder schnalz) met ǀǀgami (met schnalz) = 'water' is toevallig.
