ǁArixaǂnûb
This cup was used by hahn for trigonometric surveys. It is very close to Warmbaths, north-east, to the Arigab River. Hahn gives the clapping consonants as he heard it there, and as repeated Kipert in his version. The Krikriekarte gives the alternative name of the mountain as it was awarded to it by Sir JE Alexander 1836; On his card it was recorded as 'Mount Elliott'. The member -╪nu- = black is the color pen print of the basalt rock mass, according to Krenz, the ml. EKV. -b is normal index for a mountain (and a river). Kr. 1969 NW 306 Explain = BNU-B also directly as 'Schwarze Bergkuppe'. The ǀǀ ari- is namous of a kind of raisin forest with an acidy, woolly fruit. Others consider the Field forest 11ari and the Brossdoringbos (cf. Arndt E.A. S.V. Arndt), XAREG E.A. If the crossbery (cf. Aris) - anyway, it is an important field forest. Mossop's statement is therefore unacceptable. However, look the related name of the arigab (river). 'Black head with lots (field) bushes there'. Mr J Booish 1979 Language Assistant Note Consider the T = Nub as a possible contraction of ╪NU ǀ UIB for 'black cup', and also translate the name as 'black cup full of the 11aridi', D.I. Rosin bushes.
