Omnoupdous, Omoupous

Veillet writes wrongly a -p-ous i.p.v. -D-ous, fordaos = (here) 'drift', but the suction consonant before the word (here Tc. written) Let the question arise whether it is not poorly heard for Namaǃ soon-s = drift. The first member, to (n) Ou-B, must, from the nature of the return, be the member for 'water grass' (sourceors?). The old name got into disuse but live in his translation, viz. As 'Watergrassdrift', cf. Section Card of Namaqualand S.J., but apparently also as Grass Drif (cf. Topographic Series 1974 Skin 2816 Alexander Bay), which is then a shortening of water grassdrift and also a variety of the closing component. This is the only recording we know about the inland name for 'water grass', but it is imperfectly converted. Cfg. Also Hott 421.

Description
eng Veillet writes wrongly a -p-ous i.p.v. Section Card of Namaqualand S.J., but apparently also as Grass Drif (cf. afr Veillet skryf verkeerdelik ’n -p-ous i.p.v.
