ǃHaib

The SWA Series 1973 Skin 2818 Warmbaths as 'Haib Rhenish Mission', on the road from Karasburg to Vioolsdrift and located at the Haib River, thus southwestern of Karasburg. The place name is already behaving in th a ** 508. Telkins the suction consonant is given there as the cerebral and here. The Segsmen today rationalizes the meaning by connecting the name with 'Der MarkKnochen (Lioer Schenkelkno- Chen)', as at Kr.-r. 1969 NW 178 given under the Rine Spelling, viz. Ifǃ Heib. However, we must be open to the possibility that there could also have been a tuber plant, known as theǃ Hai-B, who could have given his name to these places, cf. about this o.a. Haigamas as already mentioned.

Die pleknaam is reeds behan- del in TH A** 508. HAIGAMAS soos reeds aangegee is.
